Corinne Patricia Squires (née Sleeman), 72, slipped away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026, with her family by her side.
Born on September 27th, 1953, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to George and Grace (Gatto) Sleeman, Corinne grew up surrounded by love, laughter, and the steady rhythms of family life. She attended River East Collegiate and later devoted herself wholeheartedly to the roles that defined her—wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker—each embraced with quiet strength and boundless devotion.
In the summer of 1970, Corinne met Robert Squires, the man who would become her lifelong companion. They married on a bright winter day, February 12th, 1972, beginning a partnership that would span nearly fifty‑four years—years filled with shared adventures, deep affection, and a steadfast bond that endured every season of life.
Corinne leaves behind her husband, Robert and their three children—Jason, Jamie (Lynne Forest), and Hope (Barry Greenham Jr.)—along with eight grandchildren who were the light of her later years: Sheldon (Maddy) & Reid (BM Kimberly Wiebe), Jesse & Colby (BM Vonnie Arnold), Tyson, Cruz, Grace, and Paisley. She is also survived by her half‑brother, Barry (Linda) Aikens.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Grace and by her in‑laws, Claire Flostrand and Harry Squires.
From childhood, Corinne carried a love of travel in her heart. She spent long, carefree days at the family cabin on Brereton Lake, a place woven into her happiest memories. As a mother, she delighted in planning road trips across the United States, filling her children’s lives with discovery and wonder.
Later, she treasured the quiet companionship of the open road, joining Robert on his long‑haul journeys—moments of togetherness she held dear. Corinne found joy in simple pleasures: a good book, a new craft, a favorite movie, the comfort of familiar faces gathered around her.
Her gentle spirit, creativity, and warmth left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
A memorial service celebrating Corinne’s life will be held at Korban Funeral Home, 907 Main Street, on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
This service will be live streamed.
